Lorraine heath scoundrel of my heart7/6/2023 How could a creature so small have such tremendous impact? A gentle smile curled her lips upward as unheralded joy pierced her heart and swept unerringly through her, taking up permanent residence in every nook and cranny of her being. The robust cries were a sign of health and well-being. The midwife had warned her that her hips were too narrow for what was to come, terrifying her with the dire possibility of death, and yet the fear, the agony, and the doubts that had plagued her now faded away in direct contrast to the increasing volume of the indignant wails filling her bedchamber. You are deeply missed, precious girl.īreathing heavily, bathed in sweat, after hours of nearly unbearable pain and screaming, the discovery came as somewhat of a surprise. Your sweetness brightened the world, and you brought so much joy to so many.

Grisham sycamore row review7/6/2023 This time he is charged with defending the handwritten will of Seth Hubbard, a white man who committed suicide. In Sycamore Row Jake Brigance’s case is completely different from his case in A Time To Kill. Walmart sent me an advance copy of the book to review for our Walmart Moms Book Club series. In John Grisham’s latest novel, Sycamore Row , Jake Brigance is back in action. Racial tensions are high throughout the story, and the case makes Jake Brigance a star lawyer in the fictional town of Clanton, Missisippi. Lawyer Jake Brigance defends Carl Lee Hailey, a black man who is accused of killing his daughter’s white rapists. Do you remember that one? It was set in the deep south. One of the first Grisham books I read was A Time to Kill. Who loves a good mystery? I know I do! And John Grisham is one of the best legal mystery writers I know! I won’t claim to have read all of his books, but I’ve read many, and I have not been disappointed yet. If you’re a John Grisham fan, you won’t be disappointed in Sycamore Row. As usual, Grisham keeps the reader wondering until the end. Soulless by T. Baggins7/6/2023 What oh the cannibalism, well it seems that there is a problem with battery farmed hens after all as it turns your sweet little angels into flesh eating monsters. You see these days make-up, swearing and cannibalism are all on the menu. This takes him back to his old school where the kids are a lot more grown up than he remembers. There are two things everyone wants to know on the internet what’s your zombie plan and how many five year olds could you take in a fight? ‘Cooties’ combines both of those into one gruesome horror comedy, made back in 2014 but released today on a world that still thinks it’ll be fine just heading on down to the Winchester for a pint and waiting for this to all blow over. Grendel by John Gardner7/5/2023 Still not feeling it? Try this: ever wondered about your purpose in life or place in the universe. What does this mean in regular terms? Well, have you ever taken a look at your parents (or your sibs) and thought, “Are we really the same species?” Have you ever questioned the motives or characters of authority figures? Those are the same big issues we all have to deal with every day-but Grendel deals with them hard, maybe so that we don’t have to. Our monster hero is just trying to figure out who he is and what his life means. John Gardner uses this weird story about a monster to tackle some huge issues, including, you know, life, death, and the nature of the universe. No, seriously: it doesn’t get much more real than Grendel. Hold the popcorn, folks, because things are about to get real. Broken knight lj shen7/5/2023 I didn’t know what it meant, but it made Mom cry in her bathroom when she thought no one could hear. I drove a fist into the oak tree, feeling the familiar sting of a fresh wound as my knuckles split open.īleeding helped me breathe better. “I Will Follow You into the Dark”-Death Cab for Cutie “Who Do You Love?”-The Chainsmokers feat. When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes. This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna.īut Luna is not who she used to be. Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero. Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants-namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language. Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending. Not all love stories are written the same way. While an illness keeps her bedridden, Bailey watches a wild snail that has taken up residence on her nightstand. He becomes a master at building and fixing radios, a talent that wins him a place at an elite and brutal military academy and, ultimately, makes him a highly specialized tracker of the Resistance.
